The Dazzling Ms Lilly
This fauvist portrait of my eldest daughter captures Lilly laughing in bright sunlight, her expression full of warmth and joy. Bold, expressive colour choices depart from realism to emphasise the intensity of light and the exuberance of the moment.
The work was selected for the prestigious Muriel Hopper Exhibition in Lower Hutt, where the standard is notably high and more than half of submitted works are not chosen.
